Color grade your video

Grading stacks in three stages, the way a colorist works: manual adjustments first, an optional preset look on top, then a 3D LUT for the final signature.

  1. Balance the clip Effects → Color holds brightness, contrast, saturation and temperature per clip. Fix exposure and white balance here before anything stylistic.
  2. Try a look The Filters row offers six curated looks (B&W, Noir, Sepia, Vintage, Vivid and Muted), layered on top of your manual grade with one click.
  3. Load a LUT Effects → Color LUT accepts any standard .cube file. The intensity dial blends it against the ungraded image; the preview runs a true GPU 3D lookup.
  4. Match shots Grade per clip: warm an interview shot, cool the B-roll, then apply the same LUT across everything for a consistent finish.

Tips

  • Grade after the cut is locked. Trimming re-grades nothing, but colour is easier to judge in context.
  • LUTs apply after chroma keying, so a creative grade never breaks a key.
  • Free .cube LUT packs from camera and film-stock vendors all load fine.
