Key colour, similarity, edge blend and spill suppression, with a preview that runs the same calculations as the render. What you see on screen is what exports.
Broadcast-style keying in the browser
Four controls stand between green footage and a clean cutout: key colour, similarity, edge blend and spill suppression. Each one updates the preview live, so you see chewed edges before you render, not after.
Works on any uniform backdrop: green, blue, or a colour sampled from the frame
Non-destructive: the key is a clip effect you can retune or switch off at any time
Generate the backdrop too, and key a presenter over an AI-made set on one page
The background is another lane
Keyed clips sit on a multi-lane timeline, so the new background can be a video, an AI-generated scene or a flat project colour. Transitions and effects carry through the key.
Swap backdrops without re-keying, because the key lives on the clip
Transitions and effects carry through the composite
Combine with the eraser for parts a key cannot catch
Questions
Does it only work with green screens?
No. You can key any reasonably uniform colour. Green and blue work best, but you pick the key colour yourself.
Will the preview match the export?
Yes. The preview runs the same keying math as the renderer (including spill suppression), so the exported video matches what you tuned on screen.
What if my background is not a uniform colour?
Use the painted eraser instead. It brushes any region to transparency, with no key colour involved at all.
Can I put an AI-generated background behind the key?
Yes. Generate a scene with the image or video models and drop it on the lane beneath the keyed clip.
