Connect Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor to Hiroska

Hiroska is an MCP server as well as an app, so an assistant you already use can open your projects, write a film with the Director, generate the shots, build the timeline and export, as you, in your active workspace. This guide connects one, sets the spending limit and asks for a first video.

  1. Choose how to connect Apps that sign in (claude.ai on the web and on mobile, Claude Desktop, ChatGPT) need no key: they add Hiroska as a connector and send you here to approve it. Clients with a config file (Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf) take an API key you make in Settings. Either way the assistant ends up with the same tools.
  2. Sign in from claude.ai, ChatGPT or Claude Desktop In the assistant's settings, add a connector (claude.ai calls it a custom connector) with the address hiroska.com/mcp and leave every credential field empty. A browser tab opens on Hiroska: sign in if you are not, read the screen that names the app and what it may do, and press Allow access. Back in the assistant the Hiroska tools are available, and the app is listed under Settings → Connected AI → Connected apps.
  3. Or make an API key for Claude Code, Cursor or Windsurf Open Settings → Connected AI and press New API key. Name it after where it will live ("Claude on my laptop"), choose Full access or Read only, pick an expiry (90 days by default, or never) and confirm your password if that is how you sign in. The key is shown once, next to the exact command for Claude Code and the JSON for clients with an mcp.json. Paste it; the key is then listed with when it was last used.
  4. Set the spending limit At the top of Connected AI, choose how many tokens all your assistants together may spend in 24 hours. The default is 1,000; pick a higher number, or No limit, before a film run. Generation is the only thing that spends. Reading, planning, checking a plan and exporting are free, and the panel shows what was used in the last 24 hours.
  5. Ask for a video Say what you want the way you would to a person: "Make a 20-second spot for the coast path in October, four shots, a calm narrator, music under it." The assistant creates a project, has the Director write the moments, quotes the run and asks before starting it. When the run is done it exports and gives you the download link, and the project stays in your account for the next change.
  6. Disconnect or revoke Press Disconnect on an app or Revoke on a key, in the same Settings section, and its next request fails at once. Keys do not appear among your signed-in devices and are not ended by "Sign out all other sessions", so this is the one place to end one.

Tips

  • Give an assistant that only answers questions about your work a Read only key: it can look at projects, the library and prices but cannot change or spend anything.
  • Keep Hiroska open in a tab while it works. Its changes to a project you have open arrive on reload, and anything it generates lands in your library like your own uploads.
  • Footage on your computer still goes in through the app, because MCP has no file transfer. Upload it, then tell the assistant the file's name. It can also import from a public web address, and it can look at any asset before placing it.
  • If the assistant says the wallet or the daily limit is reached, top up or raise the limit in Settings. It is told to stop rather than retry.
