This walkthrough takes you from a blank project to a finished MP4. It assumes no prior editing experience: the defaults are chosen so a first video works on the first try.
Create a project From the dashboard, click New project. The editor opens with an empty timeline along the bottom, the settings panel in the centre and the live preview on the right.
Add media Click Import in the Assets tab to upload video, images or audio, or click Generate in the top bar and make a clip from a prompt. Everything lands in your media library.
Drop clips on the timeline Drag a file from the library onto the timeline. The first clip you drop sets the project's canvas aspect automatically (change it any time with the aspect chip above the preview).
Arrange and trim Drag clips to reorder, and use Split on the toolbar to cut at the playhead, then delete the piece you do not want. Pulling a video clip's edge changes its playback speed rather than trimming it; on audio clips the edges do trim. The preview always shows the frame under the needle.
Add sound and text Drop music or a voiceover onto an audio lane, and use the + on the overlay track to add a title. Auto-captions live in the audio clip's inspector.
Export Click Export, pick a resolution (1080p is the default; 4K and Match source are available) and render. The finished file appears in your Assets panel and is ready to download.
Tips
Everything autosaves. The Saved badge in the top bar confirms the server is up to date.
Cmd/Ctrl+Z undoes anything, including deletes: removed clips can always be brought back.
Start with a 16:9 project for YouTube and 9:16 for Reels or TikTok. The aspect chip above the preview switches it.
