Turn one edit into every aspect ratio

One edit rarely fits every platform: a widescreen cut is letterboxed on TikTok, and a vertical one is a pillar on YouTube. Reframing re-crops a finished video for another shape and keeps the subject in frame, generating the sides a plain crop would lose.

  1. Finish the edit first Reframe at the end, on a video you are happy with. Doing it per clip as you work means paying repeatedly for shots that may not survive the cut.
  2. Open Generate and pick "Change the shape" Attach the clip, or an export of the whole timeline, which is in your library already because every export lands there.
  3. Pick the shape you need 9:16 for Reels, TikTok and Shorts; 1:1 for a feed post; 16:9 for YouTube and anything on a television. The price for your exact clip appears before you commit.
  4. Check the subject, then export Watch the result through once. Two people at opposite edges of a widescreen frame cannot always fit a vertical one; that is where a manual crop or a re-edit wins.

Tips

  • The project's own aspect chip above the preview is free and instant. Use that when you are starting a vertical video; use reframing when you are converting a finished one.
  • A clip's Transform → Frame controls include a blurred-background fill, which is the no-token way to put landscape footage in a vertical frame.
  • Export the master at the highest resolution you have before reframing. The model has more to work with, and the result is sharper.
