Playback tools reshape time: slow a moment down, run it backwards, or hold a single frame while the story continues.
Change speed The Timing tab's speed control runs from slow motion to fast forward. The clip's footprint on the timeline stretches or shrinks to match, and audio follows.
Reverse a clip Toggle Reverse in the Actions tab and the clip plays backwards in preview and export. (Reverse applies to plain clips; split-and-merged clips play their pieces forward.)
Freeze a frame Park the playhead on the frame and press Freeze on the toolbar, or "Freeze frame here" in the right-click menu. The clip splits and a still of that frame is inserted, ready to stretch to any length.
Style the hold The frozen still keeps the source's look, so you can grade it, zoom it with Ken Burns, or put a title over it for a record-scratch moment.
Tips
A freeze plus a text overlay is the fastest way to introduce a person or product mid-video.
Speed changes preserve pitch on export, so voices stay natural at moderate adjustments.
A freeze on a clip's last frame extends the ending without re-rendering anything.
