Luma Ray 3.2

Luma Ray 3.2 is Luma’s top pass for changing a clip: restyle it, or re-aim it at another aspect ratio.

Ray 3.2 is Luma’s flagship for working on footage rather than generating from scratch, and Hiroska carries it for both of its jobs. As a restyler it re-renders your clip from a description. As a reframer it converts a widescreen shot to vertical (or any other ratio) by painting the new edges instead of cropping.

It is the priciest option on both tasks and earns its place. At 540p the reframe is cheap, and the quality ladder up to 1080p is there when the shot has to carry. Inputs cap at ten seconds, so longer sequences are handled shot by shot.

At a glance

  • Type: Video + prompt → video (restyle · reframe)
  • Resolution: 540p · 720p · 1080p
  • Aspect ratios: 9:16 · 16:9 · 1:1 · 3:4 · 4:3 · 21:9 (reframe)
  • Input length: Up to 10 seconds
  • Pricing: Per second; the resolution ladder is steep

What it is best at

  • One model for two jobs: restyle and reframe
  • Cheap at 540p, top-tier at 1080p
  • Prompt-guided edges when reframing, so the fill matches the scene

Questions

Why choose Luma Ray 3.2 over a cheaper restyler?
Quality on shots that matter. For iteration the flat-priced and budget models are the sensible choice; Ray 3.2 is the one to finish on.
How much does resolution change the Luma Ray 3.2 price?
A lot. 1080p costs several times what 540p does on the same clip. The picker shows the token price as you switch, so the jump is never a surprise.
What happens if I give Luma Ray 3.2 a clip longer than ten seconds?
It is refused before anything is charged. Reframe or restyle shot by shot, which is usually what you want anyway, since each shot gets its own framing decision.
